The Peanut Butter Invention |
| In 1890 a St. Louis physician invents
peanut butter to provide his patients with an
easy-to-digest, high protein food. By early in the second
decade of the 1900's there were several dozen companies
making peanut butter. This was the real thing but by the
mid 1940's some peanut butter manufactures were looking
for ways to increase profits. In 1946 the Skippy peanut butter people received a patent for making peanut butter. |
